Kivoa Privacy Policy

Overview
Kivoa is a custom workout builder developed by Little Purple Elephant (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information Kivoa uses, where it is kept and why.
We aim to collect as little information as possible. Kivoa does not require a Kivoa account, and you don’t need to give us your name or email address to use it.
Information stored by Kivoa
Kivoa stores the things you create in the app so that it can work. This may include:
- your routines
- custom exercises you create
- images you choose for custom exercises
- lightweight workout history, such as which routine you did and when
- your app preferences
This information is stored on your device and, where iCloud sync is used, in your iCloud account (see below). It is not sent to servers run by Little Purple Elephant.
iCloud
Kivoa may use Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) services to synchronise supported content you create — such as routines and custom exercises — across your devices.
This data is associated with your own Apple Account and iCloud storage rather than a separate Kivoa account. iCloud is provided by Apple, and Apple’s privacy policy applies to how it stores and handles that data. You can manage iCloud access for Kivoa in your device settings.
Apple Watch
To let your routines work on Apple Watch, Kivoa transfers the necessary routine information and exercise assets (such as exercise names, timings and images) between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
Connecting Apple Health is optional. If you choose to connect it, Kivoa may ask for permission to read and/or write the specific Health data needed for its workout features. Depending on the device and workout, this may include workout information, heart rate and active energy.
Access is controlled entirely through Apple’s Health permissions. You choose what to allow, and you can change or withdraw access at any time in the Health app or your device settings.
- Your Health data belongs to you. Kivoa does not claim ownership of it.
- Kivoa does not copy all of your Health data into the app. It only uses the data it needs for workout features.
- Kivoa may keep limited workout-summary information for its in-app workout history.
- Health data is not used for advertising.
- We do not sell Health data.
Kivoa is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
Photos
If you create a custom exercise, you can choose images from your photo library to show the movement. The images you select are used to create that exercise, and may be stored and synchronised (via iCloud and to your Apple Watch) as part of your custom exercise.
Kivoa only uses the images you choose. It does not need unrestricted access to your other photos for ordinary use of the app.
Purchases
Kivoa Unlimited is purchased through the App Store and processed by Apple. Little Purple Elephant does not receive or store your payment-card details. Apple tells the app whether a purchase has been made so Kivoa can unlock it.
Feedback
If you choose to use Send Feedback, we will receive the information you choose to include in your message, along with your email address if you send it by email. We use this only to read and reply to your feedback.
Kivoa does not automatically attach Health information, workout history, custom exercise photos or routine data to feedback.
Analytics and advertising
Kivoa has no advertising. Kivoa does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. The services Kivoa relies on — such as iCloud, Apple Health and the App Store — are provided by Apple and are covered by Apple’s own privacy terms.
Children
Kivoa is a general workout tool and is not designed specifically for children. If you are a parent or guardian and have a question about a child’s use of Kivoa, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Kivoa changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
